Berger Luxol Enamel Paint

Luxol is Berger's alkyd enamel family, sold in two grades. Hi-Gloss is the standard mirror-gloss enamel for mild steel, wood and prepared masonry, inside or out; painters who prefer it usually prefer it for flow, since it lays off well and shows fewer brush marks than some competitors. Xtra Super Gloss is the upgrade: a higher gloss, a tougher film and better coverage per litre.

Xtra is worth the difference on ironwork that faces the weather: gates, boundary railings, balcony grilles. On interior woodwork the visible gain over Hi-Gloss is small. Our stock list does not separate the two grades, so tell us which one you want and we will confirm it at the counter. Whichever you buy, give overnight intervals between two or three coats, keep brushes and mixing containers clean, and do not use it on a damp or seeping surface; it will lift.
